Simple Window Treatments Using Vintage Hankies

by Candi
(Fort Myers, FL)

I have used vintage handkerchiefs as a window treatment. I folded each hankie corner-to-corner, creating a triangle. Place the hankie over the rod (just a plain white rod) so the point is facing the floor. Then, overlap the other hankies until you create a 'vintage hankie valance'.

The size differences don't matter - that's what makes the valance so unique.

You can do the same thing with a more contemporary look. Use fabric dinner napkins with different colors and patterns. Use your imagination!
